Question:
How can we have this flavor of life everyday, everyday even when
there is war and famine on earth?
Lao Tzu: This is the great mystery and this mystery
is both easily solved and a little complex. It begins and ends with
love and with gratitude. Gratitude is a key to moving your energy
down into your heart, where love abides. When you are in your heart,
you are full and happy, no matter what the circumstances are on
the outside.
Life seems
complex, but only in the mind. In the mind, you try to figure things
out. You try to solve war. You try to solve famine. You try to understand
why people seem mean and cruel to each other, when they could be
so kind.
On one hand
understanding this is beyond human comprehension. Life is actually
very simple, but humanity has made it complex. It is the current
state of the evolution of mankind that you are witnessing. It is
the state of the mind expressed outwardly that is causing all of
this confusion, complexity and chaos.
On the mind’s
hand, it appears very complex. On the other hand when you drop down
a foot into your heart, it gets simple again. This is the key. It
is in your chest, in your heart. Right here, right now.
Here in the
Caribbean looking out over beautiful blue waters life is easy and
simple. Why? Because here we need little mind. All is simple and
all is provided. This is the natural state. The state of the natural
life is paradise. That is the state of the heart when it is at rest,
at peace. This is the natural state available to humanity when we
love each other.

Question:
If the state of the world is because of mind then it seems we must
go beyond the mind?”
Lao
Tzu: Yes, that is the point exactly. Mankind has reached
a stage of evolution where he must go deeply into his simple nature,
his heart. It is time for a choice. You can live in heaven or you
can live in chaos. It is your choice.
Here in the
Caribbean today, we see many people with a smile on their face.
They are happy and they care for each other. The elders and children
are safe and loved. Again this is natural.

Question:
“Lao
Tzu, In America and in many countries we live very complicated
lives. It’s called the rat rate. Have can we live simply in
the rat race?
Lao
Tzu: This is the other hand of the mystery. Deep down inside
you in the core, life is simple. Like an apple, it needs to be eaten
from the outside to the inside. Like an orange you must peel the
layers, from the skin down to the juicy nectar and then you will
find the fruit.
You are nectar
deep inside, in the core. In the core of your being, there is love
and more love and more love and more love than you can ever need.
This love is infinite and never stops giving. It flows and flows.
This love is you, but we call it by many names, God, Allah, Buddha,
Krishna, Christ, our higher self.
This consciousness
is you. It is where you have come from and what you long for. Whether
you have realized it or not, this consciousness is yourself, your
own Christed nature. You are the love you seek.

Question:
It seems so hard to find this nature you talk about. How do we do
that?
Lao
Tzu: Actually it is very simple. We sit here looking out
the window, listening to music of the culture and we feel love.

Question:
But Lao Tzu I am not in the Caribbean. I live in the city.
I live where it is cold. I have money problems. How in the rat race
can I find love and peace?
Lao
Tzu: Only one place – inside. The same place you
find it when you are resting, whether you are sleeping in the city
or the countryside, in the Caribbean or in a desert, in your own
being.
Look to your
own heart for every answer. Your heart is the master valve for love
and correctness in life. It is the pump of the body. Without the
heart pumping, the body stops breathing immediately. Without the
heart there is no life. So look in your own chest and now let’s
try a simple exercise.
Breathe and
relax your body. Breathe into your heart. Open your heart. Breath
in through your nose or your mouth, I don’t care, whichever
makes you comfortable. Again breathe into your heart and relax.
Let your muscles go. Whether you are sitting, standing or lying
down, relax yourself from head to toe and toe to head. Relax into
your heart.
Remember someone
you love and breathe love to them. Where does this love come from?
- From yourself. From the love pump, the great love source, inside
you. Breath love for a few moments now, quietly before reading on.
